Cynthia Zahoruk, Principal Architect, OAA, AIA, MRAIC, CAGBC, Passive House Designer
Cynthia brings more than 40 years of experience in the architectural profession, having successfully completed over 1,500 projects throughout Southern Ontario and abroad. Her extensive portfolio reflects a broad range of practical expertise across corporate, commercial, institutional, seniors' residences, medical clinics, affordable housing, and condominium developments.
Throughout her career, she has consistently expanded her firm's capabilities by undertaking diverse project types and delivering innovative, client-focused solutions from planning approvals through to interior design.
Her professional experience encompasses all phases of project delivery, including design development, tender documentation, construction administration, contract administration, general review, post-construction services, and the management of multidisciplinary design teams. Cynthia’s comprehensive understanding of the architectural process enables her to effectively guide projects from concept to completion while maintaining quality, efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction.
In addition, over the past five years, she has served as an expert witness and consultant to legal counsel representing architects, providing specialized analysis of architects’ professional duties, responsibilities, and standards of care. Her expertise and insight have made her a valuable resource in complex professional practice and construction-related matters.
Our Team
Nevine Soliman Architect – Project Manager OAA, PMP
Nevine has over 19 years of diversified experience in the architectural design field, with the last 10 years focusing on project management for a wide variety of residential, commercial and hospitality projects in the Hamilton-Oakville-Burlington area. Nevine joined CZArchitects in 2016 as an Intern and since then she has added to her knowledge and experience to fill the role of an Architect and project manager, taking part in various project types from concept design phase to successful completion and occupancy.
Emily McMurchy Architect – Project Manager OAA, M.Arch, (Hon) BAS, CPHD Passive House Designer
Emily has 15 years of experience at various architectural firms across southern Ontario, participating in teams focused on multi-residential construction and specialized projects providing community-driven spaces. Emily’s thesis at the University of Waterloo focused on barrier-free design and how architects can go beyond minimum design standards to create spaces that work for all occupants. Emily joined CZArchitects in 2013 as an Intern Architect and has developed professionally to fill the role of Architect and Project Manager, leading many projects from conceptual design through to occupancy. Emily has a passion for bringing organization and efficiency to all her project teams while maintaining positive team morale.
Ryan Lai Intern Architect, Project Coordinator, OAA, B. Arch
With over 24 years of experience, Ryan joined CZArchitects in 2016 as an Intern Architect and has developed professionally. into the roles of Designer and Project Coordinator, using leading-edge design software on projects from conceptual design through occupancy. He brings organization and efficiency to every project and investigates emerging visualization tools, virtual spaces and technologies to support the architectural industry’s evolving needs.With an advanced proficiency in delivery tools including Revit/BIM, Auto-cad, Virtual reality visualization, drone mapping, clash detection interference software, and massing design we can provide clients with a better understanding of how their buildings will look, feel, and function.
Manal Jalloul Intern Architect, Project Coordinator B.Arch, MUP
Manal has over 15 years of experience in architectural design and consultancy, covering residential, educational, healthcare, commercial and hospitality projects in Canada, Lebanon and the Gulf region. She joined CZArchitects in 2025, bringing extensive experience in architectural design, BIM/Revit, multidisciplinary coordination and design management on major international projects. Her expertise spans the full project lifecycle from concept design through detailed design and construction documentation, supported by advanced proficiency in BIM/Revit, prototype optimization, and site adaptation.
Mathieu Howard Intern Architect, Project Coordinator M.Arch LEED AP
Mathieu joined CZArchitects in 2025 subsequent to the completion of his Masters of Architecture to begin his internship. Having prior experience in façade engineering, building science as well as mid- and high-rise residential building design in the greater Toronto and Ottawa areas, he has developed an understanding of the many scales of collaborative, fast-paced design processes, from early schematic to through to detail design. Mathieu brings organization and efficiency to the various stages of the project, from permit approvals to construction documents developing a detail-oriented workflow.
